To our supportive, animal-loving family:

As founder of Magnificent Mutts & Meows rescue I wanted to reach out to you during this very trying time. COVID-19 not only affects the health of people, but it’s having a negative impact on animal rescues and shelters. In efforts to minimize the spread of the virus businesses are taking precautions to limit groups of people, for us this means no large-scale adoption events until further notice. As a volunteer based organization, this hurts our operations. Conducting ad-hoc private adoptions for our foster-based rescue with no facility requires organizing at minimum three people to be available at the same time. We want to thank our dedicated volunteers and fosters for being flexible as we continue to work though this difficult time. In addition to limited adoptions, our vet partners are also taking precautions by limiting their office hours. Limited care accessibility causes a constraint on timeliness of vetting new animals. Due to restricted adoption events coupled with limited vet hours we have made the difficult decision to put all intake of new animals on hold. Nevertheless, we want to encourage fostering at this time.

As always, the safety and care of our animals will remain at the forefront of our operations. While we continue to monitor the developments of COVID-19, we urge you to consider fostering to help save a life. We know this is just the beginning and shelters are full. Though we cannot predict when this pandemic will end, we know there will be many animals that will desperately need our help. As always, thank you for your continued support. Rescue is truly a family of supportive people.

We plan to continue with our newsletter. The goal will be to share updates and to focus on the positive things that are happening when people come together.

Be well. Stay safe. Be kind.
