This series is dedicated to helping our community get to know the dedicated and selfless human beings that keep Magnificent Mutts Rescue running.

Meet Eric Seggerman!

1) How long have you been with Magnificent Mutts?

Just over a year now.

2) As a volunteer, what do you do for Magnificent Mutts?

I foster dogs, handle at events, help with dog meet and greets, sometimes help with transport/intake, whatever else is needed, and whatever Linda tells me to do.

3) What is your favorite or most memorable Magnificent Mutts experience or story?

There are lots of memorable experiences/stories, all mostly fun and rewarding! I’d have to say what takes the cake so far is being able to be apart of the team representing Magnificent Mutts on WGN to spotlight the organization, highlighting our rescue, what we do, and what is involved in fostering and adopting dogs.

4)  What is your favorite dog breed or dog type?

I like German Shepherd’s, Mastiffs, and Malamutes. Really all large and extra large breed dogs.

5) What advice would you give potential fosters?

Come join us, we have a great volunteer base and work for a wonderful cause, and have a ton of fun while doing it. Meet new friendly people!

6) What advice would you give adopters?

Have patience and the time to spend with your dog/puppy bonding, training and loving them. A great article to read before you adopt is “The 3-3-3 Rule” to better prepare you for adopting a dog/puppy.

7) What are your hobbies or what do you like to do for fun?

  • Old Cars
  • Off-Roading
  • Motorcycles
  • Horseback Riding
  • Boating
  • Skiing
  • Fishing
  • Hanging out by the pool
  • Woodworking
