This series is dedicated to helping our community get to know the dedicated and selfless human beings that keep Magnificent Mutts Rescue running.

Meet Jim Jozwiak!

If you’ve attended one of our events or adopted a German Shepherd from Magnificent Mutts, you might have already met Jim! As a foster, Jim takes in many of our German Shepherd rescues as well as our stronger doggies, and as a volunteer he helps provide transport for new rescues and works events.

1) How long have you been with Magnificent Mutts?

  • Since 2019.

2) As a volunteer, what do you do for MM? 

  •  I mainly foster but have done transport and volunteered at other events such as tails on the trails and poker events to raise money for MM.

3) What is your favorite or most memorable MM experience or story?

  • My favorite MM experience is watching the transformation that takes place from the time a dog is rescued to the time they find their forever home.  You can see the smile on their face and know that they are happy and finally home.  I would say my most memorable MM story would be the time I had 16 dogs in my car for transport ranging from puppies to adult dogs which was a blast!

4) What is your favorite dog breed or dog type?

  • German Shepherd!  

5) What advice would you give potential fosters?

  • To take the initiative to do something greater in life and to prove to yourself that you actually can foster dogs in order to help the next rescue in need as there are so many animals that need rescuing but not enough people rescuing or volunteering.

6) What advice would you give adopters?

  • To have a lot of patience as most of these dogs have had little to no direction in life and they just need some time, training and structure to settle into their new home!

7) What are your hobbies or what do you like to do for fun?

  • Some of my hobbies include kayaking, doing projects around the house, spending time with my family and the dogs and of course, volunteering with MM!
